Breeds Of Horses | What Breeds Of Horses Were Riden At Western United States In The Second Half Of 19 Century?

What breeds of horses were riden at western United States in the second half of 19 century?and what breeds of heavy horses were used for driving wagons? Thanks and 10 points for who can answers my question

The army used mostly morgans and some ranchers did also. There were quarter horses used on some ranches. Most of the horses were grades (no particular breeding). A lot of people caught and used mustangs. Most of the draft horses were grades descended from Clydesdales, Shires and others. The area you are speaking of is so vast and the time frame so large that it is hard to answer your question.
